Get Involved

There are many ways in which you can help us, everything from making a donation to volunteering your skills or time! We have something for most people.

Volunteer

We are always looking for willing individuals to volunteer with us. We like to ensure we build a mutually beneficial relationship with all our volunteers.  We have a range of opportunities available at the moment including:

  • publicity and marketing
  • fundraising
  • project development

We firmly believe that Volunteers offer a valuable contribution to our organisation.

In line with our mission and our core values, Global Promise seeks to involve volunteers to:

  • ensure that our services meet the needs of our service users
  • enable people with visual impairment to develop their potential abilities, so as to lead full and active lives
  • provide new skills and perspectives
  • increase our contact with the local community we serve

Global Promise recognises three different types of volunteers:

Occasional Volunteers

These are people who volunteer at events such as our Fundraising Events or help with projects, for example by helping with certain tasks e.g. marketing or mailouts.  They volunteer occasionally, perhaps a few times a year.

Regular Volunteers

These are people who take on a particular task, on an ongoing basis. Regular volunteers include those undertaking administrative work or fundraising.

Trustees and committee members

These people hold positions of responsibility and have been elected by members of the organisation or selected on the basis of their skills and experience

Work Placements

We also recognise the importance of offering local students the opportunity to develop their skills and gain some valuable work experience whilst at university. We therefore have a range of short internship opportunities available with us at our offices, particularly looking at research, project development and marketing.

If you would like to gain work experience with Global Promise, please get in touch with us or get your school, college, university or parent to get in touch.
